The realization of components is the tangible demonstration of the ability to analyze all the manufacturing steps in the laboratory and to identify and compare them with the issues of industrial production.
The Division's extensive equipment of experimental tools allows it to carry out research and process scale-up activities, from the development of technical materials to the creation of components, and prototypes. In addition to the laboratory instrumentation, some pilot-scale and demonstration plants, of primary importance for technology transfer activities are also available.
PROMAS can display a variety of demonstrators of its own research, such as: a heat pump system using hydride-polymer materials; functional materials for the production of hydrogen from water in solar concentrators; complex metal components for special applications in aerospace, aeronautics and research; gas sensors and portable multi-parameter systems for air quality and environmental sustainability; light sources and flexible/foldable/compliant, lightweight and portable solar cells.
Additional skills to the development of new processes and materials are the characterisation, engineering and qualification of components activities and the integration of components into electronic data management systems.
